Thanksgiving

Well, I have been so busy, I haven't gotten around to posting in a very long time. Thanksgiving in my favorite holiday and this year it was my responsibility to cook the meal. I was lucky we even got the chance to have a meal this year. The majority of my family work somewhere within the medical profession and so many times they have to work on the holidays. Since everyone was working long shifts on thanksgiving or the day prior to it. That left me to be in charge. I finally learned how to cook a turkey at the age of 30. I have only started to feel like a true adult the last couple of years of my life because my family often make me feel like a child, whether they are aware of that fact or not. Any way, I found out that Thanksgiving dinner does not have to be a huge production and source of stress as some people make it out to be. I think that a huge gathering might cause some of that, but whatever the reason I vow to never let that happen to me. I don't think Thanksgiving was meant to be or should be a burden. I observed too much production, stress, and all day labor and hunger through my former stepfamilies Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. My family and I had a nice dinner minus my brother, he was working and I missed him a lot. He is a good cook and I hope he will be at my side helping next year.
